David has a Master of Laws in Estate Planning (LL.M.) and has been a Florida attorney since 1995. He is a past President of a Florida Estate Planning Council and is the chair of the Broward County Bar Association Probate and Trust Section. Additionally he is a member of the Jewish Federation Professional Advisory Committee.

He taught a paralegal Florida probate course, has been a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and a member of the Florida Real Property Probate and Trust Section. Additionally he was admitted to the Illinois and Arizona bars and admitted as an attorney although currently inactive in those states.

As a Florida Probate Attorney he assists clients with with probate and estate issues throughout the state of Florida but focusing on Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

There are a few types of Florida Probate. Florida Summary Probate is when the will does not direct regular or formal probate to occur and the assets subject to Florida probate do not exceed $75,000. Certain assets which would be exempt from the claims of creditors can be exempt from calculation when determining whether it is over or under $75,000 limit such as homestead real estate of the decedent which passes to qualifying persons. There is also Florida Ancillary Probate  Florida Ancillary Probate happens when a decedent is domciled presently residing with the intent to remain in a different state at the time of their death. For example a New York man who lived in New York, New York but owned a Fort Lauderdale Condo which they visited during the winter if it was in the sole name of the decedent who owned the Florida real estate outright they would need the property ownership to be transferred to their beneficiaries or heirs depending on whether there was a will or not.
